Peruvian born Carolina Egusquiza is an artist, fashion designer and hobbyist dancer. She lives in Auckland with her family since 1997. She attended Auckland University of Technology to pursue a Certificate in Fashion Technology and then continued her art and fashion studies at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design. Art has always been a part of Carolina’s life as she started to draw from a young age. She frequently delves into photography, music, landscape sightings, nature, still-life, animals and cartoons as main inspirations for her artworks. She enjoys using graphites, watercolour pencils, ballpoint and marker pens in her drawings. Acrylics and varnish are also mediums that Carolina incorporates into her paintings. She has been influenced by Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art, Cubism, Dadaism, DeStijl and Surrealism as well. Among her favorite artists include Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Francis Bacon, Piet Mondrian, Damien Hirst, Frida Kahlo and Vincent Van Gogh.
